When you hire a postbox from Prestige Postboxes (www.prestigepostboxes.co.uk) you are agreeing to these terms and conditions. The service that we offer is for the hire of our products, and these must be returned to us in the same condition that they were received in. When placing an order, it is your responsibility to ensure that our postboxes are suitable for your event. We utilise third-party couriers such as CityLink or Parcelforce to deliver the postbox to your specified venue or delivery location. Consequently whilst we endeavour to ensure sufficient leeway to ensure your postbox is delivered in sufficient time for your event, we cannot be held responsible or liable for any delays that are encountered as a result of any unforseen circumstance or event that is outside of our control. We always do our utmost to ensure your postbox is delivered in perfect condition, and in the colour you requested, however should unexpected situations dictate that a certain colour is unavailable at short notice, at your approval we will supply you with the best replacement colour we have available. Should this not be acceptable to you then we will refund the hire cost of the postbox. We will not be liable for any consequential loss or liability, and the limitation of our liability extends to our cost of hire. We are also not liable for any purported damage sustained to persons or property as a result of use or misuse of the postbox.

Security Deposit Terms

We require a £100 security deposit to be paid to us at least 14 days prior to your event. In the event that no security deposit has been received by the time we would normally despatch the postbox (typically 3 working days in advance of your event), then we will not be able to provide the postbox for your event, and you forfeit the hire cost already paid, as we will not be able to re-hire out the item at such short notice.

Return of the Postbox

We will supply you with instructions regarding the packaging of the postbox after your event, and will discuss the arrangements of collection by the courier. Unfortunately the courier cannot advise of a specific time window, and the collection will take place anywhere between 0730 and 1730 hours. The postbox must be packaged safely and securely, using the exact box that it was supplied with, together with bubblewrap to protect the vulnerable parts. In the event that the postbox is damaged on arrival at our premises, and we decide that this isn’t the cause of courier mishandling, we will deduct an amount from your security deposit before returning the remainder to you. The amount we deduct will be at our discretion, and will be proportionate to the cost of repair and any loss. We will notify and keep you updated throughout this process.

In the event that the postbox isn’t returned to us, or that the value of damage incurred to the postbox exceeds the amount of security deposit, you agree that you will be liable for the cost of replacement, or the cost of repair even if this is in excess of the security deposit. Should a postbox be returned without a key for the lock then a charge of £15 will be deducted from the security deposit.

Cancellation

Should you cancel your order before 8 weeks prior to the hire date then we will refund the full amount of fees you have already paid to us. Should you decide to cancel within 8 weeks of the hire date then unfortunately we will not be able to refund any fees, as it is unlikely we will be able to re-hire out the postbox at short notice.
